Happy Valentine's Day from RE/MAX Complete!

By: RE/MAX Complete
 Happy Valentine's Day
from All of Us at
RE/MAX Complete!

It’s Almost Valentine’s Day!   Can you believe that February is here already?   January sure did fly by fast!!!   So what are your plans for Valentine’s Day?   Do you even know where Valentine’s Day originated from?

Saint Valentine’s Day, commonly known as Valentine’s Day is a holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine.  It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines”).   The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.  It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI.

In today’s modern era Valentine’s Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid.  Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.

Whatever you do this Valentine’s Day, we hope you will get to spend it with your family and friends.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support in making our Business so successful!

Loves To All,
Melissa & Nicole

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Alison Krauss’s most recent triumph, the certified-platinum Raising Sand, her 2007 collaboration with Robert Plant and producer T Bone Burnett, notched up a total of six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, bringing her unsurpassed total to 26. That mesmerizing modern-day masterpiece sets the stage for another stunner: Paper Airplane, the artist’s first album of all-new recordings in partnership with her band Union Station since 2004’s Lonely Runs Both Ways. In her work, Krauss has managed to consistently locate the common ground between traditional modes and topical themes. She has circulated freely within pop, mainstream country and roots music circles, creating impeccably produced records that appeal to an equally wide-ranging and inquisitive audience. Krauss has continued doing things the old-fashioned way: following her heart and whatever path the music takes her down.

Jerry Douglas is perhaps the most prolific bluegrass musician ever. In addition to his twelve solo recordings, Douglas has played on more than 1600 albums. As a sideman, he has recorded with artists as diverse as Ray Charles, Phish, Dolly Parton, Paul Simon, Ricky Skaggs, Elvis Costello, and Johnny Mathis, as well as performing on the landmark O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. He has been part of such notable groups as The Whites, J. D. Crowe and the New South, the Country Gentlemen, and Strength in Numbers. As a producer, he has overseen albums by Alison Krauss, the Del McCoury Band, Maura O'Connell, Jesse Winchester and the Nashville Bluegrass Band. Since 1998, Douglas has been a key member of Alison Krauss and Union Station, touring extensively and playing on a series of platinum-selling albums. When not on the road with Alison Krauss and Union Station, Douglas tours with his band in support of his extensive body of work. Douglas has received twelve Grammy Awards and has won the Country Music Association's Musician of the Year award three times, in 2002, 2005 and 2007. In 2004, the National Endowment for the Arts awarded Douglas a National Heritage Fellowship. Douglas was named Artist in Residence for the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008

H
uge Big Band Show, Dinner & Dance

"In The Miller Mood” opens the 12th year for the popular Celebrate America Show held on the Utah State University Campus in Logan, UT. Go back-in-time to 1942 to experience the glamour and excitement of the famous Hotel Pennsylvania where you’ll be part of a star-spangled evening with the tight harmonies of the Stardust Singers, the precision of the Stardust Dancers and the fantastic sound of the (17 piece) Larry Smith Orchestra. In the 40’s Big Bands helped America deal with the dark days of WWII, and helped patriotism soar in the United States - none more so than Glenn Miller, who was dubbed “America’s Musical Patriot” , and inspired the nation to do their part to help the war effort -- many did by purchasing War Bonds.

Packed with show-stopping music that includes In The Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Tuxedo Junction, Pennsylvania 6-5000 and many more hits of the big band era - it's a dydnamitel production that has guests saying it's the "best show on the planet!"
Drummer Ned Smith returns for his fourth year with the show. Ned’s not only the son of band leader Larry Smith, he’s a professional drummer on the West Coast, with a style reminiscent of Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa - guaranteed to energize the House!
After dinner and the show, entertainment continues as you enjoy dancing, or just listening, to all your favorite tunes from Glenn Miller to Tommy Dorsey with the band and Singers. This is one show you don’t want to miss.
